Our investment strategy has always included the purchase of a second home. However, my incredible friend and I had different opinions on the best type of house to purchase. While I was dreaming of a lodge in the woods, my partner had his sights set on a lakeside retreat. She was set on buying a house in a gated lake community with a HOA because she thought it would be perfect for our family. As the head of the household, I had to concede that this was the best choice. After all, I’ve been married for nearly three decades; I know when to put up a fight and when to just shake my head in agreement. The lake house checked all the right boxes as an investment property, and she was right about that. After my unbelievable friend and I bought it, we had to make some upgrades, one of which was installing a brand new heating and cooling system. Even though the previous owners installed an HVAC system, it had been there for nearly 15 years by the time we moved in. They claimed the part was in perfect condition, but my unbelievable friend and I decided to start over anyway. Therefore, the old HVAC system and other appliances had to be removed. A friend and I discussed renovating the deck to give it a more natural feel in light of its spectacular lakeside setting. My coworker called a local HVAC company, and they sent someone out to inspect the system. After getting a quote from the expert, my incredible friend and I got to work on replacing the antiquated HVAC system in our current lake house.

However, I met Tiffany when she started working for our firm. She applied for the job, was interviewed, and ultimately given the position. She had been working for 10 years and mentioned feeling tired of the city; I asked what she wanted to do and Tiffany told me her plan. I had faith in her ability to see the idea through, but this seemed odd. It took Tiffany another three years to find the proper setting, but once she did, she was able to purchase a fully functional farmhouse on twenty acres of land. She was eager to have me over after she settled in and show me some of the animals that came with the property. The previous owners had passed away, and their teenagers wanted to sell the house because they all lived abroad. When I returned to the village and discovered that my furnace was broken, I couldn’t help but feel envious of her carefree existence. Since I would be gone for two weeks and did not want to leave the heating on, I turned it off. But it was freezing in my house, and I wanted to get it warmed up as soon as possible, so when I heard noises coming from the air ducts, I backed away quickly. What I heard sounded like rats. Since I left the furnace off, they probably moved in while I was gone, and I needed to call an exterminator to get rid of them.

Even though I still feel pretty exhausted and could use another nap, I am almost completely free of symptoms this week after battling the flu for the past six mornings. My neighbor is scheduled to come over tomorrow night for an afternoon or two, so I am hoping I’ll have enough energy to host her without passing out the entire time. The HEPA filter needs to be cleaned before she arrives because I haven’t seen her in a few years and I want my apartment to have good indoor air quality while she is here. I also need to clean up my apartment, but this week I have been exhausted and I might wait until tomorrow to get any cleaning done. Despite the fact that I am not sure the dust will go well with my cold, I still want to clean the HVAC system before she arrives. I should probably wait on that or just hire an HVAC technician to come out and do it for me. She is in another city right now, and she might decide to stay there until her plane departs in three more mornings, so I still have to wait and see if she even plans to come tomorrow. She works in cooling and was scheduled to stay with me last Monday, but my bad luck changed that when I suddenly got the flu the previous evening.

Taking care of my body is an important part of living a healthy life. When it comes to the official maintenance and checkups at the doctor’s offices, I’m not as good as I am with diet and exercise. After neglecting my teeth for about three years, I decided to make an appointment with a dentist in the hopes that they could fix the cracks, relieve the pain, and whiten my teeth. I used to have really nice teeth, but all my molars are worn down and one is missing because I’ve spent years grinding my teeth and ignoring their advice to wear a bit plate. I’ve been focusing on heating technology at the HVAC firm, and I’ve been avoiding the nurse lately because I know what’s coming. But if I do not go, I’ll end up losing more teeth, and that will not be fun. I’m crossing my fingers that the local business can fix my teeth up like they did for my friend who works in HVAC and got his smile back after a cleaning. Maybe they can bond the cracks and make that one painful tooth better again, despite the fact that I do have insurance and about $500 saved from the Heating and Air Conditioning rep work that I can spend on my teeth. I guess I better run down to the corner store and pick up some toothpaste.

Despite the fact that I feel like I am starting to rise out of the depths finally, it has been a long haul for the past year and a half since my ex and I broke up.
After the breakup, I was in no condition to date again, and it’s only now that I feel like I’m finally ready to go on a date with someone, but I’m going to let that happen naturally in life rather than through an online dating service.
I prefer the classic approach to meeting women, and if I get in a good mood again, it will happen. Even though I think she has a guy and is just going to be friend-zoned, the cooling rep I went for a long walk with last night seems nice enough. I’m not in a hurry, so I’m just going to focus on my songs with the band, and if I happen to meet someone that afternoon, great! If not, then I’m just doing my thing and life will happen. Who knows who I might meet if I take a job at a heating dealership; someone could walk in tomorrow looking to buy a HEPA filter or radiant heated floors. I just don’t want to end up single and lonely like my aunt did because she gave up on dating. Too young to be spending her mornings on her own with her dog and whole-house air purifier, this cooling rep is only 73 years old. Somehow, love will enter my life once more. I have been fighting the flu, which, I should add, legitimately beat me up this time, since Sunday afternoon.
Instead of thinking about how I feel now, I’d rather think about how I’ll feel in the future.
Last night I had a good night’s sleep, and now that it’s 11 in the morning, I’m back at work. I think I’ll take another afternoon off to rest and then get back together with my bandmate tomorrow to practice a few songs and get things rolling again. Even though my coworker and I wrote a funny song about our jobs that included lyrics about heating and air conditioning coils and space heaters, I don’t think my voice is up to it this week. This week, after I finish my afternoon tasks, I plan to head back to the beach in the evening to relax and catch up with old friends. I was supposed to start working at the cooling corp. on Monday, but I got sick with that nasty flu on Monday night, right before I was supposed to start scrubbing some ductwork for a client. I had to leave the assignment and promised the shopper I’d be back the following afternoon, but I never made it back because I came down with the flu that night. My sinuses have been a little stuffy this week, but I think a round in the neti pot will clear them right up, so I’m going to do that as soon as I finish this article. I’m about to clean the filter in the heater.

In order to reward myself this week, I’m going to finish up one more story before giving myself a chop and recharging with an hour-long nap.
As soon as I’ve had time to relax, I’ll be able to return to the remaining 45 minutes of the afternoon’s work with renewed vigor.
Even though I will go for a long walk and get some exercise with a friend later, I will not play ball so that my body can relax more easily tonight. After spending the last four mornings doing little of note except trying to salvage, I am bursting at the seams with all the energy I have been suppressing. My body temperature legitimately reached 102 degrees Fahrenheit the other afternoon due to this flu, and it did a number on me; however, the nice herbs that the local company sold me helped a lot, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to the local corporation that employs the incredibly knowledgeable people who work there. If I can just muster the motivation to get this work done, I can retreat to the peace and quiet of my apartment’s back living room and give my weary eyes a much-needed break. The whole-house air purifier has muffled any noise that might otherwise disturb my sleep in the comfortably cool room that benefits from the shade of a large oak tree in the backyard. For the next hour or so, I plan to meditate and rest there in the hopes of recovering from my cold and getting back to work as soon as possible. I need to buy a modern washable HEPA filter, but I just haven’t had the motivation to do it.

I can’t remember the last time my mother brought the HVAC van to our condo. Typically, she takes her own truck home and parks it at the Heating and Air Conditioning company headquarters, where she drops off the company van. She, however, had a sizable business venture underway in the neighborhood and decided to go the condo route. The Heating and Air Conditioning van proudly displays the name of mom’s employer and the services they provide. For many years, she has specialized in HVAC, and now she is leading a massive HVAC installation for a business. I really can’t express how proud I am of my mom. She is succeeding in a field where men outnumber women. Mom keeps impressing her boss at the heating and air conditioning company with her competence. To help me understand Mom’s career choice, I asked her to tell me the tale of how she became an HVAC technician. She had an HVAC technician come to her condo to fix a broken AC when she was in middle school. This was during the summer vacation, when the weather was too hot to function without air conditioning. When they awoke one morning, they found that their home wasn’t being adequately cooled by the air conditioner. Her father eventually called an HVAC service in the area for help. My mother pestered the HVAC technician who visited her childhood home with numerous questions. The man was pleasant, and he filled mom in on the ins and outs of the HVAC business. That’s when mom made up her mind to become an HVAC technician, so she enrolled in a training program.

She thinks I should take a writing class because my writing is so good, but I had such a hard time fitting in when I first started at this school a year ago.
Like any self-respecting modern youth, I kept to myself and avoided being the odd one out at all costs. Our professor once asked us to compose a short story. I was hoping she would give us a topic to write about, but instead she gave us free reign. The point was to see how far we’ve come as writers. Well, I deliberated over the question and considered expanding my story to include more details from my time at a contemporary school. After reviewing our papers, she requested that I remain after class to discuss the possibility of working as a writer. Since then, my English teacher and I have become close friends, and I have even visited her home for extra instruction. She is a teacher at our institution, and her husband is an HVAC technician. My colleague and I were once in a conversation with an HVAC technician who explained that he had always been interested in the field but had been at a loss as to what to do with his life once he finished private school. His father had worked as a plumber and knew a few HVAC technicians. My professor’s spouse went on to tell me that he had done some temporary work for one of these companies, and that his experience there had convinced him to pursue a career in HVAC as well. For my professor, I think I’ll also write that up as a short story.

I visited a number of historic and modern sites in and around the area. The only things I knew about the state were its name and some urban legends. When I woke up in this quaint and beautiful city, I couldn’t believe it. That’s when I decided to stop what I was doing and devote myself full-time to my side hustle, which was writing articles about HVAC systems. After that, I went back and bought a modest house on three acres. I had a home in the city that sold like hotcakes, and I also had a healthy emergency fund. The only thing missing from the picture-perfect home was a cutting-edge HVAC system. The previous owners apparently intended it to be a vacation rental, so they only installed a window air conditioner. Space heaters were used by visitors during the colder months. However, I was interested in installing a high-quality HVAC system, so I looked for a local provider. This was my first experience getting in touch with an HVAC company, but I was able to find their contact information online. Thankfully, the representative grasped my needs, and she promised to send an HVAC specialist to my apartment for a thorough checkup.
