Adding central a/c is worth it

Adding central a/c to my home was one of the best improvements I’ve made. When my husbandy & I initially purchased the property, there was already a boiler installed. There was no option for cooling other than window a/cs & box fans. Although the summer time weather doesn’t last all that long in our local area, we can expect uneven temperatures in the upper eighties & high humidity. My buddy and I weren’t content with the comfort provided by portable cooling units. Plus, my husbandy hated the appearance of the window a/cs. I wasn’t glad with hauling them down from the attic in the Spring & back up in the fall. I finally decided to make the investment into central a/c, & I’ve never regretted it. With the ductwork already in place, the cost wasn’t prohibitive & the upgrade process wasn’t overly invasive. Having a central a/c has increased the resale value of the home. I am just cheerful that we can now adjust the temperature control & enjoy a perfectly cool residing space. Every room is comfortable. The cooling system also helps to circulate the air & keep it odoring fresh. It filters out contaminants for a healthier & cleaner home. It’s also quite effective at combating excess humidity. Although I notice a higher electric bill in the summer, the a/c is energy efficient & keeps the cost sufficient. The operation is quiet & the system requires nothing more than biweekly filter swings & yearly service by an HVAC dealer. Because of the a/c, my family sleeps better at night & has more energy while in the afternoon.
