I walked into the house the other day, and all I could smell was rotten eggs.
I had never smelled such a horrible odor in all my life.
I checked to make sure I turned the fireplace off. I had the fireplace turned off, but I could smell gas leaking from the nozzle. I was sure I needed a new gas nozzle, but I didn’t know where to get one. My best bet was to call the HVAC company. When I got in touch with them, I told them I was smelling rotten eggs, and suspected it was the fireplace. The person who answered the phone told me to turn the gas off, but I didn’t know how. She told me I should stay in the house, because it could make me sick, but I didn’t want to leave. I went to my bedroom and closed the door, so I would know when the HVAC technician arrived. About an hour later, I received a phone call from the HVAC company telling me the HVAC technician would be there in an hour. I was glad to know they would arrive soon. There was a smell of gas in the bedroom. I opened the windows, hoping to air out the house, but it was bad. The technician turned the gas off while I continued to sit in my car. I’m glad I opened the window, because the HVAC technician said he wouldn’t have touched anything with that much gas fumes in the house. Even a spark could have set off an explosion.
