Real estate investing can be a lucrative business venture

My husband Mark works as a Project Manager for a major construction company in our town.

He has been doing this for about 15 years now.

And though he loves his job, he decided that in the next 5 years, he would like to operate a successful real estate investing company. Personally, I know nothing about real estate investing. I am an English teacher, so that is way outside my realm. But Mark knows quite a bit about the industry because real estate is connected to the construction industry. In talking to Mark, I discovered that there are different types of real estate investing that include residential, commercial, real estate trust investments (REITs), raw land, and crowdfunding. But Mark would like to invest in residential property by flipping homes. He would purchase fixer-uppers and use a small crew to make the repairs as well as to perform the remodeling and then sell the home. He understands the funding risks that come with this type of real estate investing, but he is confident in his plan and believes that this would be a very lucrative business. As I mentioned, I don’t know much about real estate investing, but with Mark’s background in construction, I have no doubt that he will be successful at it. And if flipping houses works out as well as he believes it will, he would like to resign from his current position to fully pursue this venture. There is a lot of money that can be made from real estate investing and I believe that Mark has what it takes to succeed, so I will fully support all his future real estate ventures.
