Preparing your HVAC system for a hurricane

There is a lot that goes into planning and preparing for a hurricane. Most people don’t really know how to constantly prepare, although I have lived in an area that gets a sizable amount of hurricanes my entire life so I feel like I have a pretty great grip on what to expect. You need to make sure that you consistently have water and canned foods that won’t go poor hastily. It’s also crucial to have batteries and flashlights in case the power goes out. I consistently like to fill up my bathtub with water so you can have even more water, then another thing you could do if you really want to make sure that you are prepared is to call an HVAC supplier and see what they request you do to protect your HVAC system. Many homes still have an outdoor HVAC component. So it’s crucial to protect that part of your HVAC system if you have one. I called my local HVAC supplier and they proposed that I buy a small cage or box to arena around my outdoor HVAC component to protect it from disfigurement. I am so blissful that I did this because after the last storm in my area there was a lot of wind and debris. I feel it’s crucial to protect the things you own and your HVAC unit is no exception! These are a few tips that I follow to make sure that I am protecting my HVAC system as best as possible.
