The unit requires nothing more than occasional cleaning of the filter plus changing the batteries in the remote. I like the ability to customize the temperature in each home office according to preference plus occupancy. My great friend and I don’t run the cooling systems unless we’re crawling into bed for the night. Even on the hottest summer time days, the window unit can cool down a great sized room in a matter of minutes. The operation makes just enough noise to drown out exterior noise pollution such as traffic, early afternoon parakeets, road construction, barking dogs plus neighbors. In the area where my buddy and I live, the window cooling systems are the perfect solution. Our summer time seasons only last a couple of months. My family spends the majority of time outdoors.
