Back when he was a little boy growing up, my son Ray used to pretend that he was an HVAC professional.
My husband and I used to really love it when he did that because it was so cute to see.
He loved to get out his little tool belt and pretend that he was going around and taking off all of the heating and cooling vent covers. Then he would pretend to suck out all of the dirt with his little pretend vacuum. It was really just the cutest thing. The reason that he left to pretend to be an HVAC professional is because his favorite uncle was also a heating and cooling technician. Whenever his uncle would come over to visit, Ray would follow him around like a little duckling. His uncle actually ended up teaching Ray a whole lot about furnaces and air conditioning systems back when he was a little boy. Whenever we had any issues with our furnace or air conditioning system, his uncle always made sure to let Ray watch him work on them and fix them. By the time he was in high school, Ray already knew more about home repairs and HVAC systems than most adults. So, it was no big surprise when he graduated from high school and our son Ray decided that he was going to go to the local technical school to get his heating and cooling certification. Now he is working at a local heating and cooling company here in town and he really loves his job. We were not surprised in the least.
