The cooling industry’s initiative to create more jobs

With the pandemic, many industries have greatly suffered the loss of jobs.

Many people have been left jobless, and having worked in the industry for a decade, I was scared that I would end up like my colleagues in other sectors.

The pandemic made work from home preferable, so a/c servicemen had no chance. The cooling industry saw a niche and decided to help out its workers. Directors of various air conditioning companies came together and devised strategies to create more jobs. For instance, the industry digitalized the products and services they offered instead of customers going to the physical offices. They would log into the online site and put in their request, which the workman would receive and delegate to any available technician. We bumped up our work gear to include PPEs for our air conditioning technicians to protect themselves when they went for jobs at a customer’s house, including HVAC installations, air conditioning repairs, and the annual HVAC maintenance. Digitalizing the work created so many jobs for engineers. Whenever a customer wanted an accessory, such as filters to improve the air quality, and thermostats for their multi-split air conditioning systems, the request would go to the air conditioning providers and send the delivery to the customer’s house. We hired writers who know more about air conditioning to advertise the quality HVAC equipment and services and write copy to draw customers. Though some companies are warming up to the digitalized world, technician careers are again popular with the young generation as the world goes back to normal. Even when the world was locked in our houses, we still needed quality air conditioners to provide indoor comfort.
