Winter broke down the multi-split air conditioning unit

We wrapped up winter and had an equally cold spring leading us to summer, my favorite season.

  • The air conditioning technicians, who know much more about air conditioning, recommend doing HVAC maintenance once every year.

The best time is spring, so it works optimally when the quality air conditioner is switched on in summer. Since every homeowner knows to tune up their unit in spring, the air conditioning companies are busy, especially in the last weeks of spring. I scheduled an appointment with the a/c serviceman in the first week of summer. When the workman assessed my unit, he established that ice had frozen the heat exchanger coils as it was in my basement, where it was cold. I had not done any tune-up or air conditioning repairs for over a year. When ice forms on the evaporator coils, it can’t absorb latent heat, slowing down the multi-split air conditioning system’s performance. The engineers worked on the quality HVAC equipment and removed the ice. The job took about three hours, which left the engineers to spend. I was glad not to have gotten a new unit and spent money at the air conditioning provider for a new HVAC installation. They also changed the filters, improved indoor air quality, and upgraded the regulator to a wireless thermostat. Engineers in the cooling industry always fascinate me with their expertise. My takeaway from experience was to ensure I plan tune-ups every year to keep dirt, dust, and dander away from the unit. My unit is now three years and, so far, so good, and I saved the technician’s contact because I was pleased with his work.
