I was familiar with the local plumber and knew he had amazing work ethics, and he didn’t charge an arm and a leg for his service.
When we had a problem with the bathroom, I had a true emergency and tried to call him.
I had toilet water draining through the kitchen ceiling and all over my kitchen floor. I was cooking for family, and I had to have the leak repaired. When I called our local plumber, I was told he was on vacation. The person who answered the phone told me she had an emergency plumber on call in case someone had a true emergency. She seemed pleased to tell me that she would consider my plumbing situation an emergency. She told me she would call him for me and asked my name and address. Ten minutes later, I heard from the plumber and he told me he could be at the house in fifteen minutes. He asked that my husband turn the water off to the bathroom before he got there. That was going to be difficult since we had only one water shut off valve, and I would have no water. My husband turned the water off as the plumber requested and he then headed to town to pick up several cases of water. There was no way I was going to cook an entire family meal without a lot of water. But then…no one was going to use the facilities unless the plumber arrive on time. I held my breath the entire time the plumber was at the house. I prayed he could fixed the broken drain pipe and my dinner would come off without a hitch.
