There are some DIY projects that I wish I had listened to my gut before hand & didn’t attempt on my own.
Even with the best video tutorials, you can’t constantly guess that you’ll be able to replicate a professional’s actions without the typical training.
When I made shelves recently, I should have l received about how to make them sturdy enough to bear a load greater than five pounds on top of the weight of the shelves. It was a studying experience for sure, as I found out hastily how much disaster can result from a straight-forward miscalculation. When I got better with wood, I started using Youtube tutorials to make a TV stand, a work bench for my garage, & a shoe rack for my spouse. As I built more items for the house, my skills improved drastically. But as far as I get with woodworking, I still know my limits with everything else. I do not fare well with fire or electricity. I was almost trapped in a burning building at the age of 9 & then I got shocked by an electric fence a few years later. Both experiences offered me a considerable respect for electricity & fire combined. When I wanted a wood stove to compliment my gas gas furnace, I didn’t even attempt to do it on my own. I right away called a professional from the fireplace & gas furnace contractor. Since I live in the north, all of us have some companies that specialize in heating systems completely, while there are other Heating, Ventilation, & A/C dealers that also maintain, service, & install a/cs.
