But I’m thrilled to have such high-quality heating and air in my new home office
Although it didn’t begin with the pandemic, I was sure that I was prepared for the change because of the pandemic. The idea was for me to obtain my master’s degree, work for a company for a while, and then strike out on my own. But I had been working at my job for just over ten years before I decided to leave the zone-controlled HVAC of the office and work remotely from home. So much for only utilizing the commercial HVAC system for a brief period of time. In fact, as my career with the company has progressed, I’ve learned a lot and sharpened my skills. I never really wanted a corner office with a thermostat though. And working from home during the worst of the pandemic while enjoying my own air conditioning certainly served as a reminder of that. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that there was not a better time to go out by myself. As I made my plans final, I asked to continue working remotely from home. A ductless heat pump was the final touch I added to my home office this fall. The fact that I’m doing it without the overhead of an office space, even though this was once my guest room, pleases me. I’ll want to scale up as a consultant before renting an office, adding staff and all that. Right now, just baby steps. But I’m thrilled to have such high-quality heating and air in my new home office. I appreciate having a separate HVAC system from the rest of the house so I can set the temperature where I want it while I’m at work. I suppose in a way I’m enjoying having my own thermostat in my office after all.
