Now that I’m in my 70s, I genuinely feel as though my life is coming full circle in a lot of ways.
It’s genuinely strange in a way.
I’ve reconnected with old friends, and swimming has rekindled my love for it. One of those guys who avoided the air conditioning in the summer was me. I swam almost every day I could growing up because I lived only a few blocks from a large lake. Even driving has rekindled my interest in and enjoyment of travel. I was shocked by a sensation I hadn’t felt since I was a child on a recent visit to my son’s new home. My dorm room had radiant heating, so that is incorrect. But as soon as I entered my son’s new home, I felt just like a little kid again. He has a geothermal heat pump that uses radiant floor heating to transfer heat energy. It reminded me of entering my grandparents’ home when I was about seven. Actually, I had to take a moment to gather my thoughts. It was that powerful memory feeling that caused my body to become very energized. But I soon realized what it was about this kind of heating technique that I adored so much. Radiant heating gives you the impression of wrapping in warmth. With the geo heat pump’s radiant floor heating, that is most definitely how it felt. I don’t need much heating anymore because I live in the south. But man, I’ll love making the drive to my son’s house once more next winter. I’m also looking forward to the summer trip to experience the geothermal heat pump’s air conditioning.
