So this year, I’m for real.
When it comes to how we handle the cooling that we require in our homes, we’ll take a proactive approach.
Our fourth spring and summer will soon arrive. We need to accept the fact that it will be hot and muggy here. The best way to handle that fact is not to hide inside a home or office’s air conditioning system. As a family, we must accept the fact that even though we are not locals, we have moved here. So, we must behave accordingly. We can no longer simply leave the air conditioning on full-blast inside our house. I had to use savings because my utility bills were so high. That simply does not occur anymore. It’s for this reason that my wife, kids, and I put together a small family gathering. My ideas and plan were laid out. First off, despite the fact that it is in the 80s during the day’s busiest heating hours, we are not turning on the thermostat. It’s getting close to those times because March 1 is quickly approaching. We are going to gradually acclimate to the increasing temperatures and humidity levels rather than immediately turning on the air conditioning. Soon enough, the heat pump will be used for cooling day and night. But if we can learn to tolerate the heat, we won’t need as much air conditioning in the summer. We’ll stop being afraid of the heat and start acting as we live here. Of course our house will have air conditioning. But I just want everyone to work together to cut down on these absurd utility bills brought on by summertime air conditioning that never stops.
