The weather is getting warmer.
Soon, the humidity will almost exactly match the temperature.
When that pair get up in the 90s and stay close to the century mark, it can be miserable to deal with indeed. This is why each of us has a residential HVAC system with an air conditioning focus. The cooling is what we require, not the heating. However, that is par for the course. And in this area, the worst of the heat and humidity only last for about four months. A brief reprieve from the heat may come from a cold front, but that’s incredibly uncommon. Even so, I would much rather endure a hot summer than the kind of winter our northern neighbors experience. After getting a taste of that mess, I immediately ran back to the heat pump. Even though the summers are hot and muggy, the other eight months of the year are generally quite pleasant. And as our winter comes to an end, I’m bringing to a close the best aspect of the weather. Even the first heat pump turning on for some air conditioning was audible the other day. The heat pump actually balances the humidity levels in our homes because of the cooling process. When you enter from the outside, it feels especially crisp and cool for that reason. We would be in for it with the level of humidity throughout much of the year if it weren’t for this amazing HVAC technology. The issue would extend beyond simply the discomfort brought on by the heat and humidity. No, without the heat pump’s humidity control, we would all be dealing with mold and mildew removal throughout the summer.
