I'm using my A/C less to lower my electricity bill

There are a lot of ways to go about getting a lower energy bill. But for one thing, I didn’t realize that half of my problem was my exhausting clothes dryer. It took 2 hours just to get my laundry to get to bone dry. I didn’t realize that the thermal fuse in my dryer was getting ready to fail, then when it finally did, I had to test all of these components with my electrical meter to see which was the culprit, but the first thing on the clothes dryer that I decided to test was the door switch. I used the continuity setting on my electrical meter & confirmed that the door switch was still laboring. Then I moved to the beginning button on the control panel. I basically did the exact same thing as I did with the door switch, first removing the wire leads to the switch & then putting my electrical meter leads on it to do a continuity test. Once I confirmed both the door switch & the beginning button were laboring, I was fairly certain that it was the thermal fuse in the back of the clothes dryer that needed to be upgraded. After I upgraded the thermal fuse with a current one, the clothes dryer was creating heat again. However, this didn’t have as much of an effect on the electricity bill as I expected. That’s why now I’m trying to lower my electricity use by using my A/C a lot less… Running my A/C all the time has a sizable effect on how much energy that is consumed in my house. If I can lower the A/C use, that means it can also lower the energy bill.
