When you’ve lived inside rented housing all your life, there comes a big shift when you become a first time homeowner. Suddenly, you’re not calling the superintendent of the building or the rental supplier to come fix the heating plus cooling or whatever. And all the upkeep plus repair of a house is on you as well. There was a big learning curve for myself and others when I first purchased this house. And I guess I was a bit surprised by it. That has to do with the fact that I was just so eager plus gleeful to leave house life behind. I never lived in an house that had particularly unbelievable residential Heating plus Air Conditioning. Also, I was ready to shed the noisy neighbors plus all that stuff as well. To be able to pay a mortgage plus build some equity was what I was all about. And I think that I simply didn’t fully get the fact that owning a new home comes with plenty of tasks. So initially, I wasn’t particularly unbelievable with numerous of the responsibilities that come with homeownership. A big 1 was the Heating plus Air Conditioning duties. I was leaving dirty air filters for months at a time which is not unbelievable for the Heating plus Air Conditioning equipment. And I forgot to call for the Heating plus Air Conditioning repair that was essential to the performance plus longevity of the residential Heating plus Air Conditioning. So I called the Heating plus Air Conditioning supplier plus signed up for the Heating plus Air Conditioning repair plan. This way, I don’t have to remember the Heating plus Air Conditioning repair appointments as the Heating plus Air Conditioning supplier takes care of that. And then, I set alarms across all of my devices to remind myself and others to change the Heating plus Air Conditioning air filter every month.

Sure, I knew it was going to be hot and humid in the summer
I’m just so fortunate that I took the chance when I did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be enjoying this sort of winter. It’s Christmas but I sat outside to watch the sunrise in shorts and a hoodie this morning. Where I come from, I would have frozen to the spot unless I had a space heater in front of me. But here, we just don’t need much heating from the heat pump. Still, this whole thing almost didn’t happen. When I first saw the job posting, I knew I was ready for this position. I just didn’t have the confidence to make sure the bosses knew that I was ready. I’ve been working inside the zone controlled HVAC of the northern office since I got out of college. That was about 12 years ago. In that time, I’ve learned a lot, sharpened my skills and took on new responsibilities. But I’ve never been one to play office politics in order to fast track my career. There’s just something about that sort of approach that never felt authentic or particularly ethical to me. However, I knew that this position was something I really wanted and it came with a relocation to the south. I was very much ready to dump the gas furnace in favor of a heat pump and great winter weather. Sure, I knew it was going to be hot and humid in the summer. But that’s why the heat pump is the reigning champ in the south. So these days, I’m getting all the sunshine I ever wanted along with plenty of air conditioning when I need it.

I’m just so fortunate that I took the opportunity when I did, and otherwise, I wouldn’t be enjoying this sort of winter.
It’s a special holiday even though I sat outside to watch the sunrise in shorts and a hoodie this afternoon.
Where I come from, I would have frozen to the spot unless I had a space furnace in front of me; but here, my friend and I just don’t need much heating from the heat pump. Still, this whole thing almost did not happen… When I first saw the job posting, I knew I was ready for this position. I just did not have the confidence to make sure the bosses knew that I was ready. I have been working inside the zone controlled heating and A/C of the northern office since I got out of university… That was about 12 years ago. In that time, I have l gained a lot, sharpened my skills and took on current responsibilities. But I have never been one to play office politics in order to fast track my work. There’s just something about that sort of approach that never felt authentic or particularly ethical to me! However, I knew that this position was something I certainly wanted and it came with a relocation to the south. I was honestly totally ready to dump the gas oil furnace in favor of a heat pump and great winter weather. Sure, I knew it was going to be hot and humid in the summer. But that is why the central heat pump is the reigning champ in the south. So these afternoons, I am getting all the sun I ever wanted along with plenty of a/c when I need it.

I was unquestionably much ready to dump the central gas furnace in favor of a heat pump and superb winter season weather
I’m just so fortunate that I took the chance when I did! Otherwise, I wouldn’t be enjoying this sort of winter, then it’s the holiday but I sat outside to watch the sunrise in shorts and a hoodie. Where I come from, I would have frozen to the spot unless I had a space furnace in front of me; but here, my buddy and I just don’t need much heating from the heat pump… Then still, this whole thing almost did not happen, and when I first saw the task posting, I knew I was ready for this position. I just did not have the confidence to make sure the bosses knew that I was ready. I have been laboring inside the zone controlled heating and A/C of the northern office since I got out of school, then that was about 12 years ago. There’s just something about that sort of approach that never felt authentic or particularly ethical to me; however, I knew that this position was something I entirely wanted and it came with a relocation to the south. I was unquestionably much ready to dump the central gas furnace in favor of a heat pump and superb winter season weather. Sure, I knew it was going to be moderate and humid in the summer. But that has why the heat pump is the reigning champ in the south. So these days, I’m getting all the sun I ever wanted along with plenty of a/c when I require it.

This is the year I’m going to do it.
And I’m determined to see this through as I’ve sort of been way inconsistent when it comes to air conditioning during the summer.
Each year, it seems like I start out with some sort of thermostat discipline only to bail on it by about June. In our region, June signals the time when the real heat and humidity blanket our region. From June through September is what I like to call the heat season. And the heating season comes with temperatures near the century mark along with a thick dose of humidity. Each time I go into the summer since I’ve been down here, I think I’m really going to ease up on the load when it comes to my heat pump. But my will tends to fade as the temperatures rise. And I fall back into a pattern of just pushing the thermostat cooler and cooler as the summer progresses. Well not this year. I realize it’s Christmas but I’m already thinking about just how to go about saving on all that air conditioning cost. To that end, I’ve actually been doing some research and the first place to start is of course an air conditioning tune up. This allows the heat pump to be running at its most efficient which is a money saver. But then I read something that made so much logical sense that I can’t believe I never thought about it. This year, I’m not reaching for the thermostat right away once the temperatures rise in the spring. Nope, I’m going to acclimate to the heat and humidity for once which will result in a lot less demand for air conditioning when the weather really gets hot.

And I’m motivated to see this through as I’ve sort of been way inconsistent when it comes to a/c while in the summer. Each year, it seems as if I am beginning out with some sort of thermostat discipline only to bail on it by about June… However, in our region, June signals the time when the real heat and humidity blanket our region, from June through October is what I prefer to call the hot season… And the hot season comes with uneven temperatures near the century mark along with a thick dose of humidity. I have a strategy to save on my air conditioning costs
