I recently purchased my first investment property.
And though it needs some renovations before I could do anything with it, I am so excited about starting the process.
The renovations should go smoothly because my husband Kevin is a carpenter, and he will be doing most of the remodeling. Of course, I will help as well, especially when it’s time to do the painting. When we were in the process of buying the home, I noticed that there was a massive nest located inside an old tree stump in the backyard. At first, I didn’t think it would be a problem and Kevin thought that once we purchased the home, he could remove it himself. The nest was huge, and I believed that it was best to contact an exterminator to have it removed. We identified it as a yellow jacket wasp nest and they are usually aggressive, especially if their nests are disturbed. I didn’t want Kevin to take the chance of getting stung multiple times by these wasps, especially because he didn’t have any experience removing a nest of that size. So, I was able to convince him to call an exterminator instead. Thankfully, the exterminator was able to remove the nest without any incidents. While he performed the yellow jacket extermination, he wore protective gear. In some ways, I was glad that Kevin witnessed this because it just validated why I didn’t want him removing the nest by himself. In some situations, it’s just best to call the professionals to fix the problem. Now that the yellow jacket nest is out of the way, we began the renovations on our investment property, and everything is going well so far.
